Welcome to Barackulations - Sending congratulations to America on their new President Elect
Today is the day that Barack Obama is sworn in as the President of the USA. And we want to congratulate him and pray for him. It is very troubling time in the world and people are looking for someone to fix the mess we are in and are hoping that he will be the man to save the world. I pray that God has raised this leader for this precarious time. Precarious means dependent on chance; uncertain. It’s origin is from mid 17th century precarius ‘obtained by entreaty’(from prex, prec- ‘prayer’ ) + -ous . I like it! Prayer + us! We need to be serious about prayer. We need to pray for one another and we need to pray for our leaders.
My prayer for President Obama
“May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. O Lord, save our leaders! Answer us when we call! Amen.” Psalm 20

Kym from Australia says:
Just wanted to send a message from Melbourne, Australia.
Today I cried, and I stood still, and I felt proud to be alive, for the first time in along time.
I am 43yrs old, born in 1965. There are a few historic events that have happened in my lifetime. JFK had recently been assasinated. Man on the moon, Elvis Presley died as I hit puberty, Lennon too. Mandela became a free man, after the apartied of South Africa, because the world said “enough injustice, enough”.
Yitzak Rabin was murdered for trading land for peace. 9/11, Iraq, the suffering of the people of Afghanistan. The list goes on…and on.
Today, it’s not just the people of the United States of America, that celebrate. The nations of the world are celebrating right now.
My best wishes to the Obama family on this wonderfully inspiring day in history.
